The regions of great historical heritage

The Mission Region is known for its Jesuit legacy, dating back to the 17th century, when the Jesuit priests founded several indigenous reductions in the area. Among the best known cities are São Miguel das Missões, Santo Ângelo and São Luiz Gonzaga.
The Ruins of St. Michael of the Missions are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the most impressive testimonies of the Jesuit presence in South America. The ruins of the church and the surrounding buildings are an invitation for a trip to the past. There is also
Museum of Missions, located next to the ruins, home to a collection of sculptures and artifacts from the time of missions.
